What Sets Aesthetica Apart?

The importance of choosing an office for your cosmetic medical treatment(s) cannot be underestimated because making the wrong decision can cause you serious skin injury. It is important to find an office with medical providers you trust and feel comfortable talking with. It is also important that they provide professional staff that offers you the support you'll need. Many laser services consist of several treatments, so your comfort level with the medical provider and support staff is vitally important.

To help you during your decision making process, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery have identified some important things to consider and questions you should ask prior to choosing a cosmetic medical treatment center.

1. Who will perform my treatments?
It is best to choose an office where a board certified medical provider performs the treatment rather than a technician. Board-certified physicians and physician assistants have passed rigorous examinations in addition to completing medical school and residency.  You can ask to see any credentials and certificates the medical provider has.  Most offices will display these, however don't be afraid to ask to see them if they are not readily available. Medical providers are proud of the certificates they've earned as it is a clear indication of the dedication to their profession in pursuing additional training.

At Aesthetica, you will receive all medical treatments from a board certified MD or PA, never a technician or esthetician.

Information on doctors in some States is available on the Internet at http://www.docboard.org. This Web site is run by Administrators in Medicine, a group of State medical board directors.  The American Board of Medical Specialties (1-800-733-2267) can tell you if the doctor is board certified. "Certified" means that the doctor has completed a training program in a specialty and has passed an exam (board) to assess his or her knowledge, skills, and experience to provide quality patient care in that specialty.

2. Where have you received your training for this procedure? How much training have you received?
Many people may be technically covered to perform laser treatments; however does that mean you want them to perform treatments on you? In order for a medical provider to perform laser treatments, they need only attend a training class provided by the laser company selling the piece of equipment. At Aesthetica, we believe our clients deserve more.  Our board certified medical providers have sought intensive additional training in order to expand upon and sharpen their techniques of cosmetic laser treatments. They each attended personalized training with Dr. Mark B. Taylor, one of the top 5 laser surgeons in the world. When our medical providers decided to pursue additional education, they sought only the best training and they found that in Dr. Taylor.

3. How much experience have you had performing these treatments?
It is important to know approximately how many laser treatments have been performed. At Aesthetica, our board certified medical providers have performed over 5,000 laser treatments.
